HISTORY

In 1983 we made our mark in the catering industry with the opening of the Crystal Ballroom, with seating for up to 225 guests.  With its unique styling which includes Roman columns, an Oak bar and its beautiful Victorian staircase the Crystal Ballroom quickly became and remains a favorite location in Southern Connecticut for life’s special occasions.  With the latest renovation of the Crystal Ballroom we have now made it possible to dance under the stars… which is something that needs to be seen to be believed!



1986 was a very special year as we moved into a new market with the opening of the Rose Gallery with seating for up to 350 guests.  Building on the strengths of the Crystal Ballroom we added exquisite crystal chandeliers, vast picture windows overlooking the gardens, French Doors opening to a charming cocktail room and timeless artwork… not to mention the veiled Venetian area for that extra Wow effect.



With the construction of the Rose Gallery we were also able to introduce the Grand Ballroom.  With seating for events between 350-600 guests the Grand Ballroom is a one of a kind venue which is used throughout the year for larger weddings, fundraising, corporate events and smaller concerts…such as our annual New Year’s Eve Party.



In late 1986 we also complimented our venue with the intimate Regency Room.  With comfortable seating for up to 150 guests the Regency room is the perfect location for receptions, meetings and social gatherings from 50-150.  The sweeping grand staircase is accented by hand-painted rose arbors and cherubs in the venetian-style to enhance the romantic ambiance of your special celebration.  The Regency room also boasts a separate bar area with a hand painted mural which brings you to Italy, if just for a moment.



In 1999 we enchanted our on-site wedding ceremonies with a country inspired chapel.  With its exposed wooden crossbeams, built in sound system, comfortable pews and simple-elegant design The Chapel at Villa Bianca was constructed with our bride’s needs and wants in mind.  With seating for 180 it gives all of your guests the chance to experience the magical moment when you unite in marriage.



We marked the turn of the century with the opening of our one-of-a-kind Pergola.  Built to accommodate the casual to the elegant, from 50 to 500 guests, regardless of the day’s weather, our Pergola is the perfect setting for your once-in-a-lifetime affair or annual gathering.  With the needs of your day in mind we have recently added a permanent grill station, built-in serving area, custom stone fireplace and our very own Beer Garden.  Our goal…to provide your event with the accommodations that will give your guests something to remember for years to come.



In 2009 the Inn continued to grow with the construction of The Estate.  Like something out of a fairytale it is surrounded by manicured lawns, a babbling brook and exquisite lawn ornaments.  The Estate is used for special gatherings of 20 or less, as a waiting area for the weddings in the Pergola and a backdrop for timeless photos.  Per the request of our brides to be, in 2011 we also constructed a permanent area for outdoor weddings which can accommodate any number of guests.  It is truly one of Connecticut’s hidden gems.



2012 and beyond….2011 is wrapping up with a few special additions to Villa such as our expanded forior and beautiful stone patio.
